Empowering Women and Youth Through Practical Skills and Entrepreneurship – SADEF Training
The Safe and Development Foundation (SADEF) successfully conducted its scheduled practical skills training program on Saturday, 18th April 2026, in Mile 20 Peng, Tombel Subdivision. The training commenced at approximately 8:00 a.m. and brought together about 60 participants, including youths and parents from the community.

The program began with an opening prayer, followed by goodwill messages from key representatives of the organization. Remarks were delivered by the National Vice President of SADEF Cameroon, Mr. Esambe Moses; the Zonal Coordinator of SADEF Cameroon, Mr. Okane Beltus; and the representative of SADEF Canada, Mr. Sakang Elvis, as well as notable members of the host community. These addresses emphasized the importance of skill acquisition, self-reliance, and community development.
The program focused on four key areas of practical production:
- Liquid soap production
- Detergent (Omo) production
- Bleach production
- Perfume production
The training was conducted in a structured and progressive manner. Participants were first guided through the process of liquid soap production, followed by bleach production. After a short break, sessions resumed with perfume production and concluded with detergent manufacturing.
The sessions were highly interactive and participatory, with all attendees actively engaged in the hands-on production process. This practical approach ensured that participants not only observed but also directly acquired the skills being taught.
At the conclusion of the training sessions, a brief entertainment segment was organized, creating a relaxed and celebratory atmosphere. The finished products were distributed among participants, allowing them to appreciate the tangible outcomes of their learning experience.
